What are Popular Florence Street Foods?
If you haven't tried Florence's renowned street cuisine, you must go for it! Take advantage of these fast snacks in between trips to the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and other Florence must-sees.
- Lampredotto - By far Florence's most well-known street dish is the lampredotto. Although the concept may not be the most appealing, it is a local delicacy in Florence and something you must eat while you're in the city. The Lampredotto is made from stewed tomato, onion, parsley, and cow guts. There are many booths selling traditional Lampredotto paninos all across Florence.
- Schiacciata - This is the flat, focaccia-like bread that can be found in all of Florence's cafes and panino stores. The schiacciata is something you will find everywhere in Florence, whether you are eating basic schiacciata with oil or stuffed with prosciutto or salami.
- Coccoli - Small, salty, fried bread balls known as coccoli can be found in several of Florence's most traditional eateries and takeaways. The typical accompaniments for these delectable bites are prosciutto, salami, or stracchino cheese.
