DAY 1: DISCOVERING MATERA
2019 was an important year for Matera. The city was declared European Capital of Culture for 2019. Many tourists from all over the world have finally discovered its special skyline and strong identity, reflecting the profile of one of the oldest cities in the world. A unique scenery of ravines and canyons, hawks and buzzards, secret dwellings and winding streets. But the main attractions here in Matera are the Sassi. The afternoon is free, but you can return to the places explored during the morning with your guide at a more leisurely pace. Free dinner and overnight stay on request.
DAY 2: THE TRULLI OF ALBEROBELLO
Thanks to this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Alberobello, the city of trulli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its uniqueness, in the company of an official guide from the region who will allow you to discover the trulli, typical of Apulian architecture. During the walk, you will admire the main attractions of this wonderful city, including the trullo church of Sant'Antonio.
In the afternoon, we have planned a more relaxing activity to discover Matera in an ape calessino: in the company of your driver you will visit both neighbourhoods, Sasso Barisano and Sasso Caveoso, and then cross the entire scenic Sassi road. Free dinner and overnight stay on request.
