DAY 1: IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE HISTORY OF ROME
We start our Roman weekend with a guided tour of Vatican City and its museums. We have chosen for you a relaxing tour of the Vatican Museums away from the crowds. No stress to get there: upon arrival, your guide will take you to the museums where you will visit one of the most important art collections in the world. Admire the Tapestry Gallery and the Geographic Maps before arriving at the famous Sistine Chapel. You will then be guided with exclusive access to St Peter's Basilica. A pick-up service from the hotel is provided for those who wish. Free lunch.
In the early afternoon, we will continue with a dive into ancient art and history by taking a guided tour to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. You will discover the hill where Rome was founded and reach the Colosseum without having to queue. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Dinner is free, but here are our suggestions on must-try Roman street food: the famous suppì di strada, carciofi alla giuda and the trapizzino. Overnight stay on request.
DAY 2: EXCURSION FROM ROME TO THE VILLAS OF TIVOLI
For your weekend away, we have thought up a different itinerary: visit a world-famous city and its splendid Roman villas. Discover the Renaissance-style Villa d'Este and enjoy a day in natural surroundings. The most remarkable architectural complex is Villa Adriana, dating back to ancient Roman times, created in the 2nd century AD by Emperor Hadrian. It combines different architectural styles from Egypt, Rome, and Athens. Then you will discover the Renaissance-style Villa d'Este, a sumptuous setting surrounded by a spectacular terraced garden. Pick-up service from the hotel to Tivoli and back. Free lunch. Once back in Rome, we offer two different activities: board a tourist bus and stop wherever you like to continue your experience on foot or relax for dinner in a luxury restaurant while indulging in a wine tasting. The choice of activity must be communicated at the time of purchase and this may result in a change in the final price. Overnight stays on request.
