Day 1: Aosta and Gran Paradiso Park
Set off from the city of Aosta towards the first National Park ever created in Italy: the Gran Paradiso, at 4061 metres, is just what you are looking for. Hop safely onto a sleigh or horse-drawn carriage on a 45-minute tour that will take you to discover the wildest nature between Piedmont and Val D'Aosta. You will be enchanted in the forest observing eagles, hawks, marmots and conifers. The best time to visit is mid-season, when it is easier to see herds of ibex and chamois grazing. The visit is followed by a lunch with a tasting menu that includes the best Aosta Valley products. We will be hosted on a farm for a genuine and fresh lunch in the mountains.
After a break with some free time, we will move on to the historical centre of the city of Aosta, precisely to Porta Praetoria, to immerse ourselves in the culture of the place through a guided walking tour. We will continue towards the wonderful façade of the Roman Theatre, Piazza Chanoux and the curious cryptoporticus. We will end the day on a high note in front of an exquisite chopping board accompanied by a tasting of local wine. Free dinner and overnight stay on request.
Day 2: Trekking with lunch at the refuge
After breakfast, it's time for mountain lovers to enjoy the adventure of a trekking experience in the Gran Paradiso National Park, immersed in the local flora and fauna. You will be accompanied by a local nature guide who will allow you to observe torrents and waterfalls fed directly from the glaciers. The itinerary is easy and suitable for everyone, of great scenic and natural interest. The excursion is also followed by a lunch with a typical menu to sample the area's 0 km specialities. The rest of the day is entirely dedicated to relaxation and leisure, and why not relax at the Pré Saint-Didier spa?
Free dinner and overnight stay on request. Entrance to the spa is not included in the price.
