Descrizione Completa

With this tour you will visit the places where the famous film "The Godfather" was filmed, namely the villages of Savoca and Forza d'Agrò, so you can relive some scenes from the film. You will conclude everything by visiting the beautiful Taormina.

The tour will begin with a visit to Savoca, one of the most picturesque medieval villages in Sicily, included in the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy since 2008. This delightful city of art has been chosen as the set for several films of great importance , including “The Godfather,” directed by Francis Ford Coppola. You will start from one of the most important places in Savoca, the Bar Vitelli, and then continue with a walk through the alleys of the town, immersed in a suggestive landscape context. You will admire the ruins of an ancient Synagogue, a valuable mullioned window in pure fifteenth-century style and we will reach the historic center of the town which, according to some historians, has its roots in the Roman era. You will visit the Church of San Nicolò, built in the 13th century and remodeled in the 18th century, a place where some well-known scenes from the renowned cinematographic work were also recorded. You will continue moving to Forza D'Agrò, immersed in the homonymous Valle D'Agrò. During the journey it will be possible to enjoy a breathtaking view and admire the evident traces of an intense and previous agricultural activity of which the valley was the site thanks to the presence of terraces. You can also enjoy a beautiful panorama that opens towards the Ionian coast. Here, you will make a short stop to visit the Maria S. Annunziata e Assunta Cathedral, dating back to the 15th century, immersing yourself even more in a pure medieval context that exudes Sicilian style in every corner. The tour will end with a free visit to Taormina. Along the main street of the town, Corso Umberto, closed downstream by Porta Messina and upstream by Porta Catania, you will admire the most important monuments: Palazzo Corvaja; Greek theatre; Piazza IX Aprile; Clock tower; The Fortress Cathedral (Duomo); Old Badia; Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano and much more. It will also be possible to go shopping in the exclusive shops that alternate with characteristic artisan shops.
