Full Description
Along the Ionian coast, you will visit Torre Uluzzo, located in the Porto Selvaggio area, and small coastal villages like Santa Caterina, Santa Maria al Bagno, and Quattro Colonne, named after the four towers that remained after the castle's collapse. Finally, Gallipoli, the pearl of the Ionian.
The Ionian coast is characterized by cliffs and sandy stretches, red earth and vineyards, interrupted by 16th-century towers and equipped beaches. The first stop is Porto Cesareo, a fishing village with white beaches and small islands. The tour continues towards the Portoselvaggio Natural Park, with the Cave of Capelvenere and the Cave of Uluzzo, where the waters of Uluzzo Bay are crystal clear, with prehistoric archives in the caves of Cavallo, Uluzzo, and Quattro Colonne. Then it reaches Gallipoli, the pearl of the Ionian, which is surrounded by fortified walls and connected to the mainland by a bridge. The medieval village, winding and narrow alleys that break into the houses, the bastions, the castle, the churches, the Greek fountain remodeled in the Renaissance, the baronial buildings characterize this splendid city.
