The best way to do this is on foot, admiring the city's transformations over the centuries and enjoying spectacular landscapes and curious details. With a licensed guide you can appreciate the main tourist attractions such as Piazza del Campo, the true heart of the city, the Palazzo Comunale, the Cathedral and the majestic Basilica of San Domenico.

There will be no shortage of references to the great noble families, such as the Piccolomini, Tolomei and Salimbeni, and their palaces, the great tradition of the Palio di Siena, and also the stories of pilgrimage and sanctity that distinguish the city.

The walk continues with a visit to the Duomo, which preserves the treasures of artists such as Nicola Pisano, Duccio di Buoninsegna, Donatello, Pinturicchio, and Gianlorenzo Bernini, as well as its marvelous marble floor, a unique example in the history of art.

• Tours are suspended on the days of the Palio (2nd July and 16th August); • Due the moderate amount of walking to reach the main attraction sites could be better to wear comfortable shoes and clothes; • Meet our staff in Siena. Our staff will wear a green t-shirt with our “My Tour” logo; • On Sunday, instead of the Cathedral, another museum will be visited.

The tour was good. However, you need to alert your customers when there has been a change in the meeting point. We booked our tour 4 months in advance, and at some time after that the meeting point was changed to a new location a block away, but we were not notified. The tour started without us and we almost missed it entirely

Help to understand what you are experiencing. Our guide for the tour of Siena was great and very informative about the history and stories behind the sights that we were seeing from the Duomo to the Piazza del Campo. She pointed out details of the area and local customs and reasons behind the Italian traditions, like the Palio of Siena. Hopefully we will be able to return one year to see this interesting horse race.
