Get an introduction to the art, architecture, and history of Siena on a guided walk. Your professional guide will take you to see the main monuments and landmarks as you learn about the history of the city.
Siena is a treasure chest of historical, artistic, religious and cultural riches all waiting to be discovered.
The best way to do this is on foot, admiring the city's transformations over the centuries and enjoying spectacular landscapes and curious details. With a licensed guide you can appreciate the main tourist attractions such as Piazza del Campo, the true heart of the city, the Palazzo Comunale, the Cathedral and the majestic Basilica of San Domenico.
There will be no shortage of references to the great noble families, such as the Piccolomini, Tolomei and Salimbeni, and their palaces, the great tradition of the Palio di Siena, and also the stories of pilgrimage and sanctity that distinguish the city.
The walk continues with a visit to the Duomo, which preserves the treasures of artists such as Nicola Pisano, Duccio di Buoninsegna, Donatello, Pinturicchio, and Gianlorenzo Bernini, as well as its marvelous marble floor, a unique example in the history of art.
• Tours are suspended on the days of the Palio (2nd July and 16th August); • Due the moderate amount of walking to reach the main attraction sites could be better to wear comfortable shoes and clothes; • Meet our staff in Siena. Our staff will wear a green t-shirt with our “My Tour” logo; • Please note that the Spanish tour will only be guaranteed with a minimum of 4 participants. Otherwise, the tour will be confirmed in English; • On Sunday, instead of the Cathedral, another museum will be visited.
Iulia is very knowledgeable, thorough and entertaining. She conducted the tour very professionally and effectively. She is friendly and welcomes questions about the sights we are being shown. Great job, Iulia. Keep it up. Thanks for coming all the way from Florence to Siena.
A really good informative and fun, fact filled tour. Erica was an excellent guide, very informative and full of fun facts. As the other people who had booked the tour did not turn up I had a “Private” tour and this was the complete cherry on the cake! I would thoroughly recommend Erica and her tour to anyone who wants to learn all about Siena. Clearly Erica loves her city and by the end of the tour so did I!
