With this vantour, you will have the opportunity to reach and visit one of the most important abbeys in southern Italy, and then get to know one of the best oil mills in Salento, learning about the production process of extra virgin olive oil, an excellence of the Apulian food and wine tradition, all followed by a good tasting.
Get on board comfortable 9-seater vans, driven by professional drivers.
The tour, departing from Lecce at 9.30 am, is characterised by two precise stops:
The first stop is the secluded and hidden Cerrate Abbey; a path that opens up to a wonderful panorama of olive groves and fruit trees. This is a monastic centre in southern Italy, an emblem of Apulian Romanesque architecture, which will allow you to immerse yourself in total silence and tranquillity.
The second stop, a few kilometres from Cerrate, is a farm with production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil located on a vast 160 hectares of land. Here, experts in the field, with love and passion, have been paying homage to our land by producing, for 60 years, one of the most important products of the Salento: extra virgin olive oil. The stop of about 1 hour and 30 minutes includes a guided tour of the oil mill, to learn how the olives are processed, up to the bottling of the precious EVO oil. This will be followed by a tasting of various types of oil, accompanied by typical products such as: friselline with black and green olive pâté, artichoke pâté, red and yellow peppers, and dried tomatoes. Return to Lecce is scheduled for around 1.30 p.m.
Pick up service is available from Lecce, other locations are on request. A minimum of 2 participants is required for this tour.
