Full Description
Discover the places that gave birth to the inventor of the Vespa, Ing. Corradino D’Ascanio da Popoli
The ancient Via Tiburtina, so dear to Corradino D'Ascanio, will be the main theme of this Vespa tour. It starts from the Colle di Chieti, one of the oldest cities in Italy, which boasts Roman origins and is located in a happy panoramic position overlooking the valley below. Continue to the abbeys of Santa Maria D'Arabona, an ancient abbey built in the twelfth century that stands on a hill inside the beautiful Majella National Park and San Clemente a Casauria for a visit to a church with unique sensations, exciting and poignant , founded in 871, initially dedicated to the SS Trinity, then with the arrival of the relics, dedicated to Pope Santo Clemente. The most beautiful façade, the portal full of figures, the wide interior enriched by the richly decorated pulpit, the large candelabra of white marble, but above all the silence and the mystical atmosphere are certainly worth a stop. Arrival in Popoli through the Rivers Pescara and Tirino, listed among the most limpid rivers in Europe. The medieval village of Popoli also a spa, still preserves the signs of the many shops of artisans of the past, making it a quaint village with ancient charm.
These will be the places of the tour dedicated to the great inventor of the Vespa. Possible visit to the Museum of Technology and then climb to the castle of Popoli before a nice lunch with crayfish (optional).
