Full Description

Enjoy a full-day tour of Tuscany wine regions. Come with us during a day trip and travel to the heart of the Tuscan countryside. We’ll take you to visit the town of San Gimignano italy, the Chianti wine region, the medieval town of Siena and the the village of Monteriggioni. Follow us into a journey through space and time!

What you'll visit: San Gimignano and Siena's Chianti region

The town of San Gimignano sits on a low hilltop in the center of Valdelsa. This wonderful landscape will seduce you with its unique skyline of towers. Most of San Gimignano's towers were built during the 14th century by families who wanted to demonstrate their growing power.

At that time, after gaining autonomy from Volterra, over seventy towers were built in the center of San Gimignano. This process transformed a rural village into a prestigious town.

The tour continues with the Chianti region, known for its Chianti Classico riserva with the Gallo Nero symbol, and the medieval city of Siena, both located in the heart of Tuscany. All these stops are a must for those who want to see the real Tuscan landscape. You'll discover the region's history and traditions dating back to the 13th century. Enjoy excellent food and wine.

How to get to San Gimignano from Florence

Your journey will start in Florence, where you'll meet our friendly staff. Go to the Villa Costanza streetcar terminal at the end of Tramway 1, an easy-to-reach place where you can also leave your car in comfort.

On board, after the bus has left, you'll be gradually introduced to the places you're going to see and visit. The first stage will take place very soon. After an hour or so lost in the magical landscape of Chianti Fiorentino (Florentine Chianti), you'll reach San Gimignano.

This is an extraordinary example of a well-preserved urban medieval town, with the original ancient walls. It's also the main reason why UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site.

Art, museums and the best Italian gelato are all here

You'll have plenty of free time to visit everything you want. The historic city center is full of narrow streets and beautiful squares, museums, palaces, churches, magnificent towers and artisan workshops. What's more, if you're interested in contemporary art, San Gimignano is home to some interesting contemporary art galleries, such as Galleria Continua, which houses works by some of the world's most famous and best-loved artists.

If you're looking for something simpler and more popular to do in San Gimignano, then you can sample some of the best gelato in town. Here you'll find some world-famous gelaterias, such as Il Criollo and Gelateria dell'Olmo.

Chianti wine region: a taste of the classic region

Your visit continues in the splendid Chianti Classico region in the province of Siena. This is the birthplace of Chianti. We'll stop at a typical Tuscan vineyard, where you'll visit the cellars and vineyards. Afterwards, you'll taste the wine produced.

At the end of the tour, you'll return to Villa Costanza, the starting point of our visit.
