Visit one of the most well-known and significant archaeological sites not only in Italy but around the world.
Already in earlier centuries, Herculaneum was a place of interest and a key stop on the Grand Tours of Europe.
Our tour will start from the ticket office of the excavations and you will be accompanied along the way by an expert archaeologist guide who will explain the history and local curiosities.
Our visit will begin with an introduction to the ruins of Herculaneum. Despite the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, Herculaneum was able to recover, revealing itself to be the beauty it is today. You will reach a terrace from which you will be able to admire not only the excavations of the city, but also the dreaded volcano that led to the death of all local inhabitants at the time.
In the past, Herculaneum was the favourite place of Roman aristocrats who used to spend their holidays along the Campania coast. To give just one example: the Villa dei Papiri residence of Lucius Calpurnius Piso, an important Roman politician and father-in-law of Julius Caesar, was located in this very area.
Join this incredible experience to discover one of the most famous towns on the Neapolitan coast!
