Full Description
Enjoy an authentic Florentine cooking experience, starting with a guided visit to the Central Market and ending with a hands-on class where you prepare traditional dishes like lasagna and tiramisu. Savor your creations with Tuscan wines while discovering local culinary traditions and techniques.
Experience Florence like a local—cook authentic Italian dishes and discover the true spirit of Tuscany. This immersive experience goes beyond a typical cooking class, offering a flavorful journey into Tuscan culture, traditions, and everyday life. Your day begins at Florence’s vibrant Central Market, where locals shop for fresh ingredients. Guided by an expert Chef, you’ll wander through lively stalls filled with seasonal produce, aromatic herbs, cured meats, and regional cheeses, while sampling local specialties and learning how to select the best ingredients. Next, head to the Towns of Italy Cooking School, where you’ll step into the kitchen and create two iconic Italian dishes from scratch. With hands-on guidance, you’ll prepare a traditional lasagna—making fresh pasta, layering it with rich Bolognese ragù and creamy béchamel, and assembling it in your own cocotte. Then, you’ll craft a classic tiramisu, mastering the techniques behind its indulgent layers. Once the cooking is done, sit down with your group to enjoy the meal you’ve prepared, paired with a selection of Tuscan wines and a traditional dessert wine. During lunch, your Chef will also introduce you to the basics of Tuscan wine, sharing insights into what makes it so unique. Throughout the experience, you’ll gain valuable cooking skills and expert tips to boost your confidence in the kitchen. At the end, you’ll receive a digital recipe booklet, so you can recreate these authentic dishes at home. Please note: The market visit runs Monday through Saturday. On Sundays and public holidays, when the market is closed, the experience includes a special introduction and additional tastings at the cooking school instead. Vegetarian options are available—please inform us in advance of any dietary requirements or allergies.
