Full Description

Set off on this walk through calli, campi and palazzi to discover the history of Venice and its secrets, hidden between the Serenissima's past and present.

Our tour starts right in the center of the city, then to the Remedio Bridge with breathtaking views of the Bridge of Sighs, also better known as the "lovers' bridge," although in reality the bridge leads to the Doge's dark prisons. The tour proceeds to one of Venice's crooked bridges, arriving in Campo Santa Maria Formosa, one of the city's largest campi, from which 9 calli and 11 bridges branch off. From Campiello degli orbi, where a confraternity of blind men is said to have lived, you will reach the Santi Giovanni e Paolo area, now home to the Venice Hospital. You will also admire the Campiello Remer with an original view of Venice's most famous bridge, Rialto Bridge, the route leads to the legendary home of Marco Polo, a famous Venetian explorer. A fascinating itinerary to discover the centuries-old history of Venice and the curiosities the city has to offer.
