Visit Italy means getting in touch with Italian coastal cities like Sorrento. Sorrento is just one of the main cities of the namesake peninsula located in Southern Italy. It is called the Sorrentine peninsula. Sorrento is well-known because of its unique position. It is also close to the most famous islands of the Campania region. From Sorrento, it’s possible to discover all the peninsula small villages, especially one of these: Amalfi, hence the name of this area!

Amalfi coast: something more than a panoramic route

The Amalfi coast is one of the most famous tourist destinations, people come from all over the world to discover this amazing scenery. But, wait... does Amalfi coast include only one spot? No, it doesn't, of course! The Amalfi coast includes more than one place. It is the area located among the two opposite sides of the Sorrentine peninsula. The easier way to go from one side to the other one is with a bus or a van. The amazing route that connects the Northern coast of the peninsula to the Southern one is really narrow. Driving along the Amalfi panoramic route by bus or minivan is the best choice because you can also stop during the ride to take amazing pictures and admire this unique scenery.

That’s why this tour is perfect to fully enjoy what this area offers.

The Amalfi Coast is not only a natural area but also a historical site to be discovered. The best way to know everything about the origin of this part of Italy is to let you be guided through these unknown places. In this tour, an expert driver and a tour guide will take you from Sorrento to Ravello along the most famous scenic route of Italy.

The Amalfi coast route consists of about 40 km, among the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, where are located 16 small villages and where it is possible to see extraordinary natural sceneries. Because of its particular location and view, it is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Joining this tour you will have the opportunity to drive through some of the Amalfi coast villages as Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini. But you will also have the unique opportunity to spend free time in 3 of the main villages of the Sorrentine Peninsula

From Sorrento to Positano

You will be picked up at the meeting point in Sorrento and you’ll start your trip by minivan. Your first stop will be Positano. From Sorrento to Positano it takes one hour to discover this amazing “waterfall city”. Positano is famous for its particular structure and its views. It was built on different levels and its viewpoints worth the climb. The weather in Positano is remarkable because it’s usually sunny, letting you have an unforgettable view from the top of the city. Here you will have almost one hour of free time. Spend your free time climbing on the top of the city, enjoying the beauty of the main square and tasting the real Italian coffee in one of the most cafès you’ll find in the city center.

From Positano to Amalfi

After enjoying all these things you’ll be ready to next stop. Your trip continues from Positano to Amalfi, it’s time to go through some of smaller villages belonging to the Amalfi coast. You’ll need to go through Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini to reach the most famous and bigger Amalfi. Once you’ll reach Amalfi, you’ll spend your leisure time, about two hours, walking on the typical narrow streets. Along these streets, it is possible to discover a lot of beautiful spots overlooking the sea. You will have time to visit the city on your own and admire the town where handmade paper production originated. One of the places to see here is the main square. That square is dominated by the 9th Century Cathedral. Don’t miss the opportunity to taste Amalfi typical products or buy souvenirs from this amazing place! After a traditional light lunch, the trip continues to Ravello.

From Amalfi to Ravello

Ravello will be the last but not the least village you’ll visit. Ravello is the pearl of Amalfi coast because it is not a village at sea level, but it is necessary to climb a little bit to reach it. You’ll take the Amalfi coastal route that will leave the seaside to go up on the rocks where the city center of Ravello is located. From Amalfi it takes around 30 minutes in which you’ll be able to see one of the symbols of Amalfi coast, the lemon trees.

When in Ravello, you’ll have one hour to discover the city. Find the best place of Ravello named Belvedere to take the best picture ever shot. From Ravello you’ll enjoy the view of the entire Amalfi Gulf. After visiting Ravello, the trip will come to an end. Along the whole Amalfi Coastal Route, you will be back in Sorrento in less than two hours.

A place where nature meets food

The Amalfi coast is one of Italian UNESCO World Heritage Sites, not only because of natural scenes or panoramic views, but also thanks to Amalfi products. It could be said that lemon is the special product of Amalfi. When in Amalfi you can enjoy your free time as Italian people do: drink a shot of Limoncello, a traditional liquor handmade with Amalfi and Sorrento lemons. Or eat the most famous dessert in the Southern Italy Delizia a Limone. Maybe admire the Lemon path along Amalfi coastal route or smell lemon scent perfumes in Amalfi shops.
