Visit Lucca, the historical walls and taste the typical products of the town by e-bike. From charcuterie to sweets, taste the real flavour of Tuscan food. You will love it!
Explore Lucca by e-bike in small groups and taste typical local products. Lucca is surrounded by Renaissance cycle walls and is known as "the city of 100 churches", but also for its food, both sweet and salty. The cuisine of Lucca is typical for its genuineness and simplicity, as are the people who live there. It is a cuisine of rural origin, made with poor ingredients and linked to the seasonality of the crops.
The first thing you'll notice about the city is the splendid and intact 16th-17th century city walls, which include, in its more than 4 kilometres, no fewer than 10 bastions, a platform and ramparts - still a unique viewpoint over the city. The medieval attractions and monuments bear witness to the passage of all historical eras. Starting with the Roman Amphitheatre - today Piazza dell'Anfiteatro - designed by the architect Lorenzo Nottolini.
During this relaxing tour you will discover the main attractions such as the Cathedral of San Martino,Church of San Michele, Piazza Napoleone, Piazza Anfiteatro and part of the walls always accompanied by our friendly guide.
One of the treasure of the city is the Duomo of San Martino. The façade, inspired by the Pisa Cathedral, thanks to the work of Guidetto da Comois is a masterpiece of the Romanesque architecture of the city. The polychrome marble, the large portico overlooking the square and splendid bas-reliefs depicting the martyrdom of St Regulus is an artistic wonder!
You will stop at a traditional delicatessen where you will savor Tuscan mouth-watering appetizers accompanied by a glass of wine. After a short ride, seated again in one of the historic pastry shops where you will also taste sweets from Lucca. One of the most famous sweet of Lucca is the Buccellato, It can be shaped like a doughnut or a parcel, but the flavour does not change. The basic ingredients are flour, eggs, sugar, aniseed, and sultanas. It is excellent dipped in wine. Another great dessert here in Lucca is the Castagnaccio, a chestnut flour cake with pine nuts, orange peel, rosemary and oil, all baked in the oven. What is certain is that you will love everything!
