Lucca - Self-guided tour of Pisa By Bike

A fun excursion from Lucca to Pisa by bicycle, off the beaten paths, along roads known only by local cyclists. Follow the Serchio River and cycle along scenic country roads on the way to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa on this guided bike tour. This easy/intermediate route starts in Lucca and follows minor country roads all around the Monti Pisani. Covering 33 kilometers of gravel and tarmac roads with your bike will be a breeze!

The Monti Pisani are the  protagonists of the Tuscan landscape. Excursions reveal their numerous and suggestive ravines and picturesque caves and grottos, with details to discover and admire.

Every corner of the Monti Pisani is steeped in the legends of popular tradition, which have always fuelled the aura of mystery and handed down the myths, but your guide will tell you all about its history during the tour, don’t worry!

This tour will allow you to admire both the artistic and natural beauties of this part of Tuscany. The route is completely flat and mainly along the river, on paths or secondary roads, also perfect for families and kids (we suggest over 10y and 140 cm). 

Is planned a stop in San Giuliano Terme after about 20km from the start, here you can refresh yourself in the charming central square where you find drinks, salty and sweet foods. At the end you will finally arrive to Pisa, the city of the famous Leaning Tower. After the visit to Piazza dei Miracoli and the usual and funny photos with the Leaning Tower, we will take the train for the return, from Pisa to Lucca, it will be a 25 minutes trip.
