The ruins of the San Galgano Abbey are a great place to visit if you're looking for something out-of this world. The roofless church and abbey were built by Cistercian monks in 12th century Italy, but it's not just their age that makes them so breathtaking - there is also plenty else worth seeing! Outside on your farmlands sit beautiful views like these ones: green rolling hills with orange sunsets over them far away... Legend states San Galgano embedded his sword into the stone to show he was done fighting and would spend the rest of his life as one devoted to faith, hence why there are still many churches dedicated in honor of him today!
Next up is Massa Marittima, a perfectly preserved hilltop Tuscan town. While all the neighboring towns were conquered by rulers in Florence or Pisa (or Siena), this brave little hamlet has managed to remain independent and its historic buildings are still mostly intact! You can spend hours exploring every nook of this quaint village - there’s even an hourglass-shaped cathedral that you won't believe until seen firsthand like ours 21 meters high walls 400 steps down into its base...
The Cathedral of Saint Cerbonius in the main square of Massa Marittima is a beautiful church that has earned its place as one many people know about. Not only does it have an archeological museum and mining museum, but visitors can also enjoy some time at either tower open to them if they want great views while being away from town!
