Trains From Milan To Lake Como

The quickest and least expensive way to go to Lake Como from Milan's city center is via train. Trains operated by Trenitalia Trenord are effective, comfortable, and relatively affordable. It is substantially quicker than driving, taking between 36 minutes and 1 hour to cover the distance.

Bus From Milan To Lake Como

Although there are various buses from Milan, I'd suggest taking the train because it's more convenient and fast.

You might choose to take one of the neighborhood buses from the lake to your ultimate destination. Bus routes connect all the towns, and depending on your destination, some may be quicker than taking the ferry.

Driving From Milan To Lake Como

The trip from Milan to Lake Como is very straightforward, and as you get closer to the lake, you'll travel through some picturesque terrain. It's important to keep in mind that your departure from Milan will differ depending on whether you're traveling to Como and the western or eastern shore of the lake.

The roads get narrower and windier as you start to travel away from the major roads and along the lake's borders. Despite how close they appear on a map, they are not the highways for racing! You'll never forget your first time driving around Lake Como since there are breathtaking sights around every bend.

Carpooling To Lake Como

The BlaBlaCar app, which is essentially a form of carpooling or contemporary hitchhiking, is a choice you may not be familiar with yet.

It is a well-known app or website that is used all over Europe, where drivers offer to pick up passengers who need a ride. Just to give an example, I once quickly checked what was available that day and discovered that someone was offering a private transfer from Milan to Como for only 6 euros: a great deal!

I'd make sure, if I were travelling alone, to read the ratings of the drivers and to go with my intuition. Of course, you'll feel safer if you're traveling with pals. Several of my female friends used BlaBlaCar last summer to tour Europe and claimed it was fantastic!
