Florence Train Information

Firenze Santa Maria Novella Train Station is the main train station in Florence. Santa Maria Novella is located very close to the center of Florence, within walking distance to all of the tourist sites, and most accommodations if you do not have too many bags! Santa Maria Novella is the biggest transportation hub in Florence. It is also the location where some intercity busses drop off, and tourist busses meet. There are also tramlines and some ATAF busses pick up here. There are some smaller regional train stations outside of the center of Florence including Firenze Campo di Marte, Firenze Rifredi, Firenze Porta al Prato, Firenze Castello and others. If you are a tourist, you will rarely catch a train from these stations. Local trains are slower and less comfortable than express trains. But they are cheaper and stop by small towns.
