Fiesole is a small town in Italy that is located on the Florentine hills which is only a short distance from Florence. It is a jewel of Romanesque architecture and is considered to be the best place to admire the wonderful Florence skyline. The town was first founded between the 9th-8th century BC with the remains of its walls proving that it was an important member of the Etruscan Confederation. The first recorded mention of Fiesole dates back to 283 BC when Faesulae was conquered by the Romans. Some historic landmarks you can check out when in Fiesole are The Roman Theater, Piazza Mino, and Villa Medici.
