When you think of Florence, the first thing that probably comes to your mind is not beaches. Despite this, there are so many beautiful ones not too far from this city. During hot summer days, when everyone else wants some peace for their vacationing selves (or just because they can), sometimes it’s nice to get out into nature at one of these amazing spots nearby! Here's my list with everything worth seeing while visiting the nearby of the beautiful Tuscan city:
Cinque Terre is a must-see for anyone who has an appreciation of the natural beauty that this area offers. It’s also great as part one or two on your journey from Florence, depending how much time you want to spend there! But if not? You can easily get between these towns via train rather than waiting out bad weather from your accommodation.
Viareggio Beach is the most popular beach throughout Tuscany for its sandy bottom and laid back atmosphere. The “passeggiata” or promenade nearby makes it the perfect way to kill some time when you get tired from exploring this amazing city!
Although it is not one of the best places ever, it still has something to offer that makes it worth visiting.
Forte Dei Marmi is a luxurious beach with many expensive restaurants and designer boutiques in the area around it. This place has been very popular among younger Italians, especially to spend their weekends since in summertime there are night-clubs that offer live music, drinks specials for locals as well!
Castiglioncello is a gorgeous place with incredible beaches and reefs. It's part of the Etruscan coastline, so you can expect to find pristine blue water when swimming here! But be warned- it takes about two hours by train from most Italian cities before reaching this beautiful destination point for vacations or honeymoons alike.
The ancient Etruscans were well known for their love for the ocean and San Vincenzo is one of the most beautiful beaches that can be included in a perfect day trip from Florence. It's popular among those who enjoy beach sports, but there are plenty of activities you can try if your interest lies in nature too! The Rimigliano Natural Park closeby has been established as an exceptional place to spend time plunged in nature; it'll only take about two hours by train before arriving at this magical destination where flora meet fauna along perfectly varied landscapes.
