Are There Markets In Florence?

May 20, 2022

Apparently the most famous market in Florence is San Lorenzo Central Market. If you are visiting only one market in Florence, this is one. When Florence became the capital of Italy, the market moved from Piazza della Repubblica to a new building near the Church of San Lorenzo. There are over 100 stalls with meat, cheese, pasta, fish and vegetable sellers. There are also some restaurant stalls that are great for buying snacks! Outside is the largest leather market in central Florence.

The largest market in Florence is the Cascine Market. This market is only open on Tuesday mornings and Sundays before bank holidays! The market has hundreds of food stalls along the Arno River and about two miles of Cascine Park. You can find everything from food to clothing, antiques, plants and gifts.
