Marche: up and down the hills

Monsampolo, a small village in the Ascoli hinterland, stands on a hill, thanks to its position it had a strategic function both in the military and in the commercial field. Acquaviva, a charming village in the hinterland, lies on the hills that slope towards the Adriatic Sea, while behind it is protected by the Sibillini Mountains. In the historical center of Acquaviva stands the medieval fortress. Of particular interest “le pagliarole” a typical handicraft of this village. Offida, of ancient origin, inhabited by the Picenes, was later conquered by the Romans and had a period of great splendor in the Middle Ages. Castignano, a small medieval village protected by the shadow of Mount Ascension. The city offers surprising views, in fact from the medieval square of San Pietro, you can admire the Appenini, the sea and the characteristic gullies. Grottammare of ancient origins dating back to the age of polished stone. The ancient village, surrounded by walls that have been restored and enlarged in the 16th century, rests on the hill, while on the coast lies the seaside village. There will also be tastings of typical local dishes and wines!
